With stair cladding, every step gets a made-to-measure new top layer of PVC or laminate, including finished step noses. The existing staircase stays in place — no demolition, no days of disruption: a standard staircase is usually done in one day and immediately walkable again.
For a standard staircase of 13-14 steps you pay € 1,000 to € 2,500, including materials and fitting. Where you land in that band depends on the layout (a quarter turn or landing means made-to-measure work per step), open or closed, and the chosen finish. If carpet or another covering is still on it, removal work is added.
Tip: choose your finish together with your floor. PVC and laminate come in the same designs as flooring — matching staircase and floor gives a calm whole and the jobs can often be combined.
