A solid handrail at the right height is half the safety of a staircase. This job fits or replaces a handrail — against the wall, on the open side with spindles, or both — including proper anchoring into the wall or stair stringer.
For a handrail, a stair gate or a combination you pay € 250 to € 900, depending on material (wood, stainless steel, steel) and the length of the staircase. A stair gate at the top or bottom is hung to measure, so it genuinely closes.
Often included in a bigger staircase renovation: the handrail comes off anyway, and fitting a new one is comparatively cheap then. Mention it in your request.
